BARE FEET CAMP

BARE FEET in partnership with Africa Kidsafe and the department of social welfare have taken 50 children directly from the streets to a place outside of Lusaka for 35 days. If this pilot scheme works, Bare Feet will have helped give these children a chance to get off the streets. The jewel in the crown of the Bare Feet festival will be the children performing a new piece of theatre.

THE BARE FEET FESTIVAL

The past weeks have been frantic making preparations. The festival is extended to a week this year, meaning over 1000 kids are busy rehearsing and preparing for that day! 1000 fantastic, creative kids on or formally living on the streets (now living in centres/orphanages) will get a chance to perform a unique programme of events showcasing the work that the Bare Feet team have been working towards throughout the year.

CALENDAR 2008

A collection of pictures taken by Adam McGuigan and Maeve O’Hara has been put together in the form of a beautiful calendar, for the specific purpose of raising some much needed funds and awareness for “Bare Feet”. Monies raised will assist in the continual effort to help withdraw children living and sleeping on the streets of Zambia’s cities.

To buy your calendar contact Anne McGuigan at the following e mail address,

To those who have assisted in raising money and all who have contributed along the way, in particular the sponsors who made the calendar possible, thank you so much, your support is really appreciated.
